2020 World Occupational Therapy Day – ‘Reimagine Doing’
Every year, the World Federation of Occupational Therapists creates a campaign to celebrate World Occupational Therapy Day, which takes place on October 27th. The 2020 campaign theme is ‘Reimagine Doing’ and the main goal is to celebrate the expertise of occupational therapy for reimagining participation in occupations that provide value and meaning to everyday life. Stay strong and active with our virtual drop-in classes!
We’ve been trying to find ways to better support our dance community and contribute to the positive health and well-being of our dancers and families during these challenging times. Therefore, we’ve made a few changes to our programming to offer virtual drop-in classes to our dancers who want to keep dancing with us but can’t commit to the entire season. Would You Like to DANCE to ADVOCATE?
If you are a DAM dancer, a DAM dancer’s sibling who dances or a volunteer who volunteers in other DAM classes and answered YES to the question above, then our Dance Ability Performance Crew classes might be a great fit for you! Our Performance Crew gathers virtually for choreography classes only, once a week, to learn choreography targeted at advocating for dancers of all abilities and enhancing the social movement. It’s Time to Dance with Our Performance Crew!
Our last season looked a little different for everyone, especially for our Performance Crew that didn’t get to “perform” on a stage. But nothing stopped this amazing crew from dancing together. The challenges and change sparked new creativity and our dancers performed their hearts out from home - and created our first video performance - reminding us all, that even when times get tough - “It’s time to dance!”.
