Congratulations Sarah McLennan on being selected as our December 2020 Volunteer of the Month!
Sarah is new to The Dance Ability Movement this year but has shown already that she is an integral part of the DAM family! Sarah jumped right into her role, volunteering in a virtual capacity with our Halton Down Syndrome Association classes on Monday evenings and joining our Mississauga crew at June Lawrence School of Dance on Sundays. From day one, Sarah could be trusted to not only follow public health guidelines to ensure the safety of our dancers and team, but also do it with fun and energy to keep dancers feeling calm, happy, and welcomed as they entered [...]
Dancing Together to Keep Our Moods Lifted and Our Dreams Big!
Although this year felt a little upside down, there's a lot to be grateful for as well. 2020 was a year of unpredictable changes, uncertainties, and unknowns but it was also a year for finding the strength of our community and the power of dance to keep us connected and moving together. We have been grateful for the virtual technologies that have enabled many of us to stay connected, and in many ways, sparked new and innovative ideas. Congratulations Reese Yip on being November’s Volunteer of the Month!
Reese has been such a big part of our in-person and now virtual JCB volunteer team and has made a truly special connection with his buddy. Connections like these are hard to come by and we are so happy when our volunteers are able to make such an impact on our dancers. Throughout his time with the Dance Ability Movement, Reese has shown the power of our dance buddies. Every time [...]
