Peer Dance Buddy Volunteer
The Peer Dance Buddy role is for kids aged 8 to 12 who want to dance, make new friends, and share the joy of movement! Our ultimate goal is inclusion. As a Peer Buddy, you are the same age as our dancers, who have various abilities. Your main role is to build real friendships, model dance moves, and ensure everyone feels included, supported, and ready to have fun!
- Locations: Milton (Dance Elite – Saturdays) and Mississauga (June Lawrence School of Dance – Sundays)
- Time Commitment: 1 to 4 hours per week
- Age Requirement: 8 to 12 years old
🌟 What You Will Do (Responsibilities)
- Promote Inclusion: Help every dancer feel included, accepted, and part of the team.
- Build Friendships: Get to know the dancers, learn their names, and welcome them with a big smile.
- Lead by Example: Follow the teacher’s instructions and model dance moves.
- Spread Joy: Bring an encouraging and energetic attitude to every class.
- Be Reliable: Arrive on time for your scheduled weekly class and tell the Dance Instructor and Volunteer Coordinator if you have to miss a day.
- Learn Together: Attend an orientation to learn how to support dancers of all abilities.

- Age: Between 8 and 12 years old.
- Heart for Inclusion: Passionate about making sure no one gets left out.
- Personality: Friendly, kind, enthusiastic, and patient.
- Interests: Loves to dance, listen to music, and meet new people.
- Skills: Good listener who can follow along with a dance teacher
